About Antimicrobial Products

Good and bad bacteria are everywhere and Healthcare Associations across the globe are introducing antimicrobial ranges to help reduce the risk of infectious diseases and create safer healthcare environments. As part of our ongoing commitment to developing innovative healthcare solutions, Con-Serv has introduced a range of Antimicrobial products to support this growing need.

What does Antimicrobial mean?

Antimicrobial literally means “active against microbes” and can be defined as something that can resist, inhibit and prevent the growth of microbes including bacteria and mould.

In developing our Antimicrobial healthcare range, antimicrobial additives have been infused into the product material during the manufacturing process. These additives work to attack the bacteria cell wall, interrupt cell metabolism, and prevent bacteria reproduction extending the product's hygienic properties and minimising the potential of cross-contamination.

Con-Serv's Antimicrobial range

Con-Serv have long been leaders in the healthcare industry with our Hygienic Seal® grab rails and Hosfab® shower systems. With health and hygiene our priority, we have introduced an Antimicrobial Shower, Handpiece, Shower Hose, Rail Slider, Grab Rails, Folding Shower Seat and Laminar into our healthcare range.

1. Antimicrobial Shower

Combining our Antimicrobial Grab Rail, Shower Hose, Handpiece and Slider our Antimicrobial Shower delivers an accessible showering solution that meets the requirments of AS 1428.1:2021 and is available in WELS 3 Star (9L/min) or WELS 4 Star (6.5L/min) option. (Product code: HS 01809 AW)

2. Antimicrobial Shower Handpiece

ABS 100mm lightweight, single function shower with Biomaster antimicrobial additive. The Con-Serv Antimicrobial Handpiece has a full pattern spray and is available in WELS 3 Star or 4 Star options (as per WELS licence number 0046). Ideal for high-risk contamination areas, our handpiece contains additives that reduce surface build-up of biofilm and bacteria. (Product code: HP 035 AW)

3. Antimicrobial Shower Hose

For use with a handheld shower, Con-Serv’s smooth PVC shower hose with antimicrobial additives is available in lengths of 900mm, 1200mm, 1500mm, and 2000mm. Antimicrobial shower hoses meet the performance requirements of AS/NZS 3662 clause 5.4 and are suitable for hospital facilities.

4. Antimicrobial Glide Slide Handset Cradle

ABS construction with antimicrobial additive and includes our Clicklock™ claw handset support. Con-Serv’s Glide Slide is height adjustable and fastens to a 32mm rail for easy installation. (Product code: HC 024 AW)

5. Antimicrobial Grab Rails

All Hygienic Seal® grab rails include our Biomaster Antimicrobial Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) fitted seals that help prevent grime accumulating behind the gra rail flanges. Hygienic Seal® grab rails are also available in an Antimicrobial White finish for added protection against bacteria. (Product code: HS 1000 AW)

6. Antimicrobial Folding Shower Seat

Designed to meet the requirements of AS 1428.1:2021 Design for access and mobility, Con-Serv folding shower seats are manufactured from 304 stainless steel and feature tension grip hinges for horizontal and vertical movement. The antimicrobial slatted seat deck has soft, round edges and self draining channels. Maximum load 250kg. (Product code: SS 964 AW ME)

7. Antimicrobial Laminator

Laminar flow inserts minimise the potential for pathogens to enter the water by producing a non-aerated, splash-free, crystal clear stream. Ideal for healthcare facilities, our laminar flow inserts also contain additives that reduce surface build-up of biofilm and bacteria in high-risk areas.
